I use to play it on a 9 yr old computer, doesn't really matter how old it is
Americas Army seems to be all about camping...
If you're on assault you want to get inside ASAP or try and Flank an enemy... (Flank means to go around on their blind spots, ex: If they're inside a building, go above... or shoot through the window)
Camping is simple, find a good hiding spot that has great visibility of the entrances (note: people who've played for a while will know where the spots are and scope them out first, be alert or choose an unusual spot)
QUALITY HEADPHONES WILL HELP A LOT!! Hearing your enemies footsteps first can be the difference between life and death, be aware you also can hear your teammates so I suggest hitting 'u' on your keyboard to inform your team of your location, typically they will do the same (hitting 'u' after you do so, any good team will do this)

this is true, camping fails more and more since you play with the same people, they will find your spot. Vent/TS helps with reporting in :P
